Join a team of technologists on a mission to prepare smart African youth for careers of the future.

We’re looking for software engineers to work one-on-one with students studying computer science and web development. We’re also looking for other tech professionals to give workshops on design, leadership, presentation skills, and more.

Ways to Mentor

Teaching Assistants

Students earn independently then come together once a week for a 90-minute problem-solving session on Zoom led by a Teaching Assistant. As a TA, you will:

  • Meet with a small group (2-8) of students live on Zoom
  • Work through problems, and give feedback
  • Time commitment: 3 hours a week for 4 weeks (1hr prep, 90-minute class)

Upcoming class dates are Feb 7 – Mar 11 2022 (introductory Python)

Career mentors

Career mentors support students as needed, including guest speaking on panels, and providing general career advice and guidance. As a mentor, you will:

  • Speak candidly and honestly about your career path
  • Give students advice on growing as technologists
  • Time commitment: 1-2 hours per month depending on program needs
